And a friend who spreads the canopy of wealth

over whoever lodges within his bounds.

His riches, a subject people, complain

of the arrogance of his squandering’s sultan.

His grounds are fertile for his night visitors,

his courtyard spacious for his guests.

When the flood of our destitution sweeps around us,

we board the ship of his aid.
