أَلا عاطِني المَدامَه

أَلا عاطِني المَدامَه

بِقاقُرَّةٍ وَجامَه

بِقاقُرَّةٍ وَجامَه

Come, pass me the wine,

Give me wine in a cup

With a wine vessel and a goblet;

With a little jug on the side

وَلا تُصغِ في التَصابي

وَلا تُصغِ في التَصابي

إِلى زُخرُفِ المَلامَه

إِلى زُخرُفِ المَلامَه

And in youthful dalliance, do not listen

Pay no heed to the censurers’ babble

To the gilded words of reproach.

Or critics’ pompous deride
