ذوone possessed of غَضَبِanger قاتِليmy slayer بِعِلَّتِهِwith his affliction
إِنif لَمnot يُعِنّيaids me الرِضاcontentment بِصُحبَتِهِwith its company
An angry one will slay me with his affliction,
unless contentment aids me with its company.

to guide one lost in his ordeal
لِشادِنٍfor a young gazelle زالَhas departed عَدلُthe justice رَحمَتِهِof his mercy
عَنّيfrom me فَقاسَيتُso I suffered ظُلمَthe injustice قَسوَتِهِof his cruelty
over a young gazelle whose mercy's justice has departed
from me, so that I have suffered his cruelty's injustice?
ماnot رَبِحَتhas gained قَطُّever مُقلَتيmy eye سِنَةًdrowsiness
فيin سوقِthe marketplace تَغييرِهِhis changing لِسُنَّتِهِof his customary ways
My eye has never gained a moment's drowsiness
in the marketplace of his changing his ways.
