I have spoken the words of a man whom
the learned esteem for his discernment:
مَنwhoever لَمdoes not يُرِدwish أَنthat تَدومَendure طاعَتُهُobedience to him
فَليَلزَمِthen let him compel الخِلَّthe friend غَيرَcontrary to عادَتِهِhis habit
Whoever does not wish obedience to him to last,
let him compel his friend to act against his habit.
