وَدَجنٍand a raincloud مُسبِلِletting hang down الأَطنابِthe tent ropes جَونٍdark
رَبيعِيٍّspringtime لِرَفرَفِهِfor its fringe اِنتِشارُa spreading out
And a dark cloud, its tent ropes hanging low,
A springtime cloud, its fringe spread wide—
أُشَبِّهُهُI liken it وَلَمعُand the flash البرَقِof lightning فيهِwithin it
بِحُرّاقٍto tinder تَمَشَّتhas crept فيهِthrough it نارُfire
I liken it, as lightning flashes within it,
To tinder through which fire has crept.
