ياO أَخاًa brother قَطُّever ماnot اِقتَضىhe demanded
يا أَخاً قَطُّ ما اِقتَضى
مِنfrom أَخِa brother غَيرَother than حَقِّهِhis due
مِن أَخِ غَيرَ حَقِّهِ
O brother who has never demanded
from a brother anything but his due,
إِنَّماonly سُمِّيَwas called الصَديthe friend (first part)
إِنَّما سُمِّيَ الصَدي
قُ(completes 'the friend') صَديقاًa friend لِصِدقِهِfor his truthfulness
قُ صَديقاً لِصِدقِهِ
a friend is called
a friend only for his truthfulness.
