I have gold whose mine is the grape,

    Studded with burnished bubbles,

And a singer whose lute is like an organ,

Delighting us with a wild sound from it.

If [reading uncertain] he passes through the tavern, he sings no false note.

Beauties never before gathered for any master.

    فَالرَوضُ قَد أَودَعَ غُلفَ الأَغصُنِ

    So resolve to journey toward a pleasant life;

For the garden has stored within the sheaths of its branches

Whatever you wish of inkwells [reading uncertain] and oil flasks.

So drink beside the tongue-shaped water lily,

For it has risen in its adorned water,

And there become red amid dark gray.

And behold the shaping of the swallows’ cups [reading uncertain],

For it is indeed a delight to the eyes.
