Barakat is blessings to me, just as his name implies.
Blessings are with me like his name, blessings,
A gazelle whose glances are the rare gifts of his eye.
A gazelle, the glances of his gaze are subtleties,
إِنif جاءَcame مِنfrom فَمِهِhis mouth إِلَيكَto you بِجَونَةٍwith a perfume casket

If he brings you a perfume casket from his mouth,
If he came to you with a kiss from his mouth,
Fragrant wafts reach you from its camphor.
The breaths of its camphor came to you,

A bough—whenever he rises, displaying his figure,
A branch, if it stood up straightening its trunk,
His movements lend his flanks their luster.
The movements of its tenderness were straightening,

Singularly endowed with qualities that, if they
Specialized in natures, if they were cotton,
Were cotton, would yield striped cloths for us.
Inks would have been made from them for us,
وَمُعَذَّرٍand a downy-cheeked youth ليfor me فيهِconcerning him عُذرٌan excuse واضِحٌclear

And a downy-cheeked youth—my excuse for him is clear;
And excusing me in it, the excuse is clear,
Whoever doubts it causes me vexation over him.
Whoever doubts it, so for me in it are advocates,

Were my love for him not a gain, then
If my love for him were not profitable,
Hearts would not flock in such numbers to the fair of his love.
The passions would not have multiplied in the season of his love.
