وَأَخٍand a brother كَريمِnoble العُنصُرِlineage
وَأَخٍ كَريمِ العُنصُرِ
مُتَفَضِّلٍgenerous حُرٍّfreeborn سَريdistinguished
مُتَفَضِّلٍ حُرٍّ سَري
And a brother of noble stock,
And a brother noble of lineage
Generous, freeborn, distinguished,
Generous, free, secretive
أَهدىgave as a gift لَناto us يُسراًease (as written) لَهُit has
أَهدى لَنا يُسراً لَهُ
طَعمٌa taste كَطَعمِlike the taste of السُكَّرِsugar
طَعمٌ كَطَعمِ السُكَّرِ
Gave us ease, which has
Brought us ease for him
A taste like that of sugar,
A taste like the sweetness of sugar
كَخَرائِطٍlike pouches مِنof مُصمَتٍplain silk
كَخَرائِطٍ مِن مُصمَتٍ
خُتِمَتwere sealed بِشَمعٍwith wax أَصفَرِyellow
خُتِمَت بِشَمعٍ أَصفَرِ
