At evening I was bewildered on the paths of love,
I wander lost in the paths of passion
between the rough ground of grief and the rugged terrain of sorrows.
Between the harshness of sorrow and mournful sadness
وَرُسومُand marks خَدِّيَmy cheek مَحَتerased آثارَهاtheir traces

بِسُيولِ أَدمُعِها غُيومُ جُفونِ
And the marks on my cheek had their traces erased
And the traces on my cheek have been erased
by clouds of eyelids, with torrents of their tears.
By streams of tears like clouds on my eyelids

May I not die until he endures what I have endured—
There is no refuge for one who has no shelter
he whose heart feels no pity for my madness.
Whose heart is not softened by my madness
