وَفِتيانٍand young men حَوَواpossessed كَرَماًnobility وَجوداًand generosity
وَفِتيانٍ حَوَوا كَرَماً وَجوداً
وَحازواand attained مِنهُماof them both ماwhat لاnot يُحازُcan be attained
وَحازوا مِنهُما ما لا يُحازُ
And young men who possessed nobility and generosity,
Young men endowed with generosity and munificence
And attained of both what cannot be attained.
Attained from them what cannot be attained
إِذاif جازَis permissible المِطالُdelay بِوَعدِconcerning the promise of قَومٍa people
إِذا جازَ المِطالُ بِوَعدِ قَومٍ
فَلَيسَthen there is not لَهُfor it بِوَعدِهِمُconcerning their promise جَوازُpermission
فَلَيسَ لَهُ بِوَعدِهِمُ جَوازُ
If delay is permissible in fulfilling some people's promises,
If people's promises are fulfilled
Then it is not permissible in fulfilling theirs.
Then their promises have no validity
هُمthey فيon أَوجُهِthe faces of الأَيّامِthe days حُسنٌbeauty
هُم في أَوجُهِ الأَيّامِ حُسنٌ
وَفيand on ديباجَةِthe brocade of الدُيناthe world طِرازُembroidery
وَفي ديباجَةِ الدُينا طِرازُ
They are beauty on the faces of the days,
In the faces of days they are beautiful
And embroidery on the world's brocade.
And in the brocade of life adorned
