And I indeed give the seeker of bounty his due,

And I honor his favoring me with his presence.

And I let my generosity, if it sees the night of his plight

Pitch-dark, rescue him with the light of its sun.

So if his expectation comes forth forlorn, there hastens

To it my bounty, that it may delight in its company.

So ask hopes about me; they will tell you that I am

A youth who, if he journeys by night through nobility, follows his own discernment.

When the fruits of giving grow scarce,

Then people seek them nowhere but in his planting.
