إِذاwhen أَقامَhe settles بِأَرضٍin a land سارَtravels نائِلُهُhis bounty
إِذا أَقامَ بِأَرضٍ سارَ نائِلُهُ
And I have a companion whose virtues cannot be counted.
A friend whose virtues I can't count,
When he settles in a land, his bounty travels.
When settled in a land, attains his goal.

بِهِ الرِكابُ وَلا تُخشى غَوائِلُهُ
He brings his well-known kindness wherever
His good deeds spread wherever he alights,
The riding camels have borne him, and no harm from him is feared.
Mounts bear him with no fear of obstacles.

When wine one day boasts of its delicacy,
When grace and charm adorn a gathering,
In a gathering, his gracious manners laugh at it.
Smiles light his face, enhancing the scene.
