And a lion who has never kept to his lair since he was a cub,
A lion who since a cub has never been cowardly
Whose thicket is feet and Khatti spears.
With strong legs and a fiery spirit

He leads firm resolves; deaths are trampled
Leading resolves that crush misfortunes
By their hooves when battle’s furnace grows hot.
When heated, their onslaughts cannot be stopped

Of a people whose swords
Over whose striking edges souls flow.

When they unveil their faces while the night of battle-dust is dark,
When they travel and the dark night descends
Then their faces are suns against its darkness.
Their faces are suns piercing its darkness
