ياO مَنyou who يُقَصِّرُshortens خَطوَهُhis stride الإِعياءُexhaustion
الناسُthe people قَدّامٌahead وَأَنتَand you وَراءُbehind
O you whose stride is shortened by exhaustion,
O you whose steps are shortened by fatigue
The people are ahead, and you are behind.
People ahead while you lag behind
ضاقَتhave grown too narrow فُروجُكَyour strides عَنfor لِحاقِكَyour catching up with مَنone who لَهُhe has
بَينَamong السَوابِقُthe leading steeds جَبهَةٌa forehead غَرّاءُwhite-blazed
Your strides are too short for you to catch up with one who has
The paths to catch up with them have narrowed for you
A white-blazed forehead among the leading steeds.
For the frontrunners have a wide expanse
فَاِطلُبso seek لِنَفسِكَfor yourself مَربَطاًa tethering place غَيرَother than الَّذيthe one that
ماno فيهِin it لِلمُتعَثِّرينَfor those who stumble رِواءُa binding rope
So seek for yourself a tethering place other than the one
So seek for yourself a tether other than that
Where there is no binding rope for those who stumble.
In which latecomers find no rest
