O dear friend who has turned away,
O my anger that refused to subside
And kindled embers of ghada wood in my entrails,
And a burning coal kindled in my heart

فَفيمَ لا تَعزِلُهُ بِالرِضا
You gave bewildered anger command;
You have turned an affair into confused wrath
So why not dismiss it with goodwill?
Why then do you not ward it off with acceptance?

Do not condemn an offender with reproach:
Do not punish with blame one who is blameworthy
Fate decreed that he should wrong you.
The decree has judged that he will reap harm upon you
