نَسيمٌa breeze كَحَلقىlike my throat فيin نَغمَتِهits melody
وَماءٌand water كَشِعرِيَlike my poetry فيin رِقَّتِهits delicacy
A breeze whose melody is like my throat's,
A breeze like the melody in its tenderness
And water like my poetry in its delicacy.
And water like my hair in its softness
وَقَدand indeed بَرَزَemerged الرَوضُthe garden فيin وَشيِهِits brocade
غَداةَon the morning when بَداappeared الجَوُّthe sky فيin مُصمَتِهits plain, unpatterned garb
And the garden has emerged in its brocade,
The garden emerged in its beauty
On the morning when the sky appeared in its plain garb.
When the weather cleared in its serenity

So rise, O brother of the full moon, bring that which
So rise, O brother of the full moon with what
Has become a sister to your cheek in its redness;
Your cheek's sister dawned in its redness
فَقَدfor indeed نَثَرَscattered الغَيمُthe cloud دُرَّthe pearls of النَدىthe dew

For the cloud has scattered the pearls of dew
For the cloud has scattered the pearls of dew
Upon the gold of the plants, from its silver.
On the plant's gold in its silver
