وَما لُهُ لِرائِحٍ وَغادِ
O you whose bounty readily answers the rein,
O you whose bounty is easily led,
And whose wealth is for the evening traveler and the morning traveler—
And whose wealth is for evening and morning wayfarers,

Noblest is that which slakes the heart’s thirst.
Unveil that which clears the heart’s rust;
For thunder is to the showers like a camel-driver,
For thunder is to the dews like a chanting camel-driver,

And lightning appears from amid the cares,
And lightning appears amid the cares,
As though it strikes a spark from a firesteel.
As though it were striking sparks from a flint.
