O you whose constant bent for revelry is mine,
O you whose wont in merriment is mine,
whose reins are held in the hand of youthful folly!
and whose reins are in the hand of youthful folly,

Do you not see the water’s crystal glass,
Do you not see the water's glass, as there appear
from which bubble-flasks rise before us?

So bring the crucible-goblets, filled
to the very rims with molten gold.
to the rims with molten gold.

The sky’s bellows kindles a fire of lightning;
For the sky's bellows kindle lightning's fire;
when it dies down, it smokes with mist.
when it dies down, it smokes with mist.
