May I disbelieve in the camphor from his mouth,

and never worship the musk from his hair,

if I have ever seen anyone like him

in his conceit—no, nor in his arrogance.

And the sum of the matter, and its details,

is that I am captive in the hands of his estrangement.

So may God bring relief to my heart, for

my heart has pitied it for its suffering.
