O you who stab me with reproach that would almost pierce me through,
O you who reproach me with censure that nearly undid me,
were I not wearing armor of hope.
Had I not been clad in a coat of mail made of hope.

Bestow on me a new robe of your favor, for
Put on me something new of your pleasure, for
I have patched with apology what I tore through my missteps.
I have patched with excuses what I rent with sins.
