إِذاif غُرِسَتis planted فيin رَوضِthe garden of قَلبِكَyour heart عِفَّةٌchastity
إِذا غُرِسَت في رَوضِ قَلبِكَ عِفَّةٌ
وَصاحَبتَand you keep company with ماthat which يرضيis pleased بِهِwith it صاحِبُthe Lord of العَرشِthe Throne
وَصاحَبتَ ما يرضي بِهِ صاحِبُ العَرشِ
If chastity is planted in the garden of your heart,
If chastity is planted in the garden of your heart,
and you keep company with what pleases the Lord of the Throne,
And you accompany what pleases the Owner of the Throne,
فَأَنتَthen you بِماwith what أُلبِستَyou were clothed in مِنof رَونَقِthe radiance of النُهىreason
فَأَنتَ بِما أُلبِستَ مِن رَونَقِ النُهى
كَأَنَّكَas though you were حَليُthe finery of الزَهرِthe blossoms رُندِجَwas dyed dark بِالطَشِّby the drizzle
كَأَنَّكَ حَليُ الزَهرِ رُندِجَ بِالطَشِّ
then you, clothed in the radiance of reason,
Then you, clothed in the splendor of propriety,
are like the blossoms' finery, darkened by drizzle.
Are like the adornment of flowers embroidered with gold.
