الغَيمُ بَينَ مُزَرَّرٍ وَمُحَلَّلِ

الغَيمُ بَينَ مُزَرَّرٍ وَمُحَلَّلِ

وَالقَطرُ بَينَ مُجَمَّدٍ وَمُسَلسَلِ

وَالقَطرُ بَينَ مُجَمَّدٍ وَمُسَلسَلِ

The clouds, some buttoned up, some unfastened;

The clouds amid embroidered and fragmented,

And the raindrops, some congealed, some strung in chains;

The raindrops amid frozen and chained,

وَالقُضبُ بَينَ مُقَرَّطٍ وَمُطَوَّقِ

وَالقُضبُ بَينَ مُقَرَّطٍ وَمُطَوَّقِ

وَمُدَملَجٍ وَمُتَوَّجٍ وَمُكَلَّلِ

وَمُدَملَجٍ وَمُتَوَّجٍ وَمُكَلَّلِ

And the branches, some adorned with earrings, some with necklaces,

The twigs amid intricately patterned and ringed,

And with armlets, crowns, and garlands;

Adorned and crowned and bejeweled.

وَالنَبتُ بَينَ مُزَعفَرٍ وَمُمَسَّكٍ

وَالنَبتُ بَينَ مُزَعفَرٍ وَمُمَسَّكٍ

وَمُخَلَّقٍ وَمُعَبَّرٍ وَمُصَندَلِ

وَمُخَلَّقٍ وَمُعَبَّرٍ وَمُصَندَلِ

And the plants, some saffron-tinted, some musk-scented,

The plants amid saffron-colored and held firm,

And scented with saffron perfume, blended perfume, and sandalwood,

Slit and expressed and bundled,

وَمُدَبَّجٍ وَمُطَرَّزٍ وَمُصَنَّفٍ

وَمُدَبَّجٍ وَمُطَرَّزٍ وَمُصَنَّفٍ

وَمُعَرَّضٍ وَمُرَصَّعٍ وَمُثَقَّلِ

وَمُعَرَّضٍ وَمُرَصَّعٍ وَمُثَقَّلِ

And brocaded, embroidered, and striped,

Ornamented and embroidered and classified,

And broad-striped, jewel-studded, and heavy with adornment.

Displayed and studded and heavily laden.

فَاِشرَب عَلى حُلَلٍ لَو أَمكَنَ لَبسُها

فَاِشرَب عَلى حُلَلٍ لَو أَمكَنَ لَبسُها

كانَت تَكونُ مِنَ الطِرازِ الأَوَّلِ

كانَت تَكونُ مِنَ الطِرازِ الأَوَّلِ

So drink amid robes which, if they could be worn,

So drink to dissolution, if it were possible to wear it,

Would be of the finest order.

It would be of the finest make.
