Wine, as praiseworthy as your fragrance,
Gentle as your breeze in praise,
And as pure as your affection;
And like your affection in serenity,
وَحَدائِقٍand gardens قدalready زُوِّقَتhave been adorned
وَحَدائِقٍ قد زُوِّقَت

بِصُنوفِ أَصباغِ الشِتاءِ
And gardens already adorned
And gardens adorned
With winter's varied pigments:
With winter's colorful blooms.

Amid the white pigment of water.

فَعَلامَso why تُلفىare you found صَاحِياًsober
فَعَلامَ تُلفى صَاحِياً
وَاليَومَwhile the day نَشوانُintoxicated الهَواءِthe air
وَاليَومَ نَشوانُ الهَواءِ
So why are you found sober,
Why wander crying out loud
While the day's very air is drunk?
When today the air is pleasant.
