دَليلٌproof بِأَنَّof the fact that اللَهَGod لاno شَكَّdoubt واحِدُOne
Your passing, O Sword of God, into your sheath—the earth—
Your absence is like the sword of God sheathed in earth
Is proof that God is, without doubt, One.
Proof that God is undoubtedly One
فَلَوfor if أَنَّthat فَذّاًa peerless man خَلَدَتهُmade him immortal فُتوحُهُhis conquests
لَماthen not كانَwould be فيamong الأَقوامِthe peoples إِلاكَexcept you خالِدُimmortal (also the name Khalid)
For if a peerless man were made immortal by his conquests,
For if conquest had made a hero immortal
None among the peoples but you, Khalid, would be immortal.
Among peoples, none but you would have been immortal
