أتَينا على البَشَا التِّهامي علَى شَوقِ

أتَينا على البَشَا التِّهامي علَى شَوقِ

وقد ضَاء ضَوءُ الشَّمسِ في الغَربِ والشرقِ

وقد ضَاء ضَوءُ الشَّمسِ في الغَربِ والشرقِ

We came to Pasha al-Tihami with longing,

We came to the exalted one yearning with desire

And the sun's light has shone in the West and the East.

As the sun's light shone in the west and east

أتينَاه لِلفنِّ الذِي هُو ربُّه

أتينَاه لِلفنِّ الذِي هُو ربُّه

وأضحَى به في غربِنا مشرِقَ الأُفقِ

وأضحَى به في غربِنا مشرِقَ الأُفقِ

We came to him for the art of which he is master,

We came to him for the art which is his lord

And through him its horizon has grown radiant in our West.

And which made him a bright horizon in our west

أتينَاك يا مَن طبَّقَ الأرضَ صَيتُه

أتينَاك يا مَن طبَّقَ الأرضَ صَيتُه

وحَاز مقَامَ الأولَوِيَةِ في السَّبقِ

وحَاز مقَامَ الأولَوِيَةِ في السَّبقِ

We came to you, O you whose fame has filled the earth,

We came to you, O one whose fame covered the earth

And who won the foremost place in the race.

And who attained the highest status and preceded all

أسيِّدَ إفرِقيَا ويا فخرَ أَهلِهَا

أسيِّدَ إفرِقيَا ويا فخرَ أَهلِهَا

ومَن لَم يَدَع في الفَخرِ شَيئاً ولم يُبقِ

ومَن لَم يَدَع في الفَخرِ شَيئاً ولم يُبقِ

O master of Africa, and O pride of its people,

Who became master of Africa and pride of its people

And you who have left no glory unclaimed, and nothing remaining.

And left nothing lacking in pride or existing still

أتيناكَ يا حِلفَ المكَارِم فوقَ ما

أتيناكَ يا حِلفَ المكَارِم فوقَ ما

سَمِعنا وقَرَّ الطَّرفُ منا على حَقِّ

سَمِعنا وقَرَّ الطَّرفُ منا على حَقِّ

We came to you, O ally of noble deeds, greater than what

We came to you, O pillar of virtues beyond what

We had heard; our eyes found contentment in the truth.

We heard and the eyelid approved as truth

رأينَا المَعالِي فاخِراتٍ بكُم وكَم

رأينَا المَعالِي فاخِراتٍ بكُم وكَم

فَخُورٍ بكُم لكنه عارِىُ الطَّوقِ

فَخُورٍ بكُم لكنه عارِىُ الطَّوقِ

We saw lofty virtues taking pride in you; and many a

We saw the lofty ideals proud through you, so many

Man takes pride in you, yet wears no necklace.

Proud through you, though bare of wreaths still

فنَشكُرُ منك الجُودَ والفضلَ والنَّدَى

فنَشكُرُ منك الجُودَ والفضلَ والنَّدَى

ونُثِني ثَناءً في مَسِيره كالبَرقِ

ونُثِني ثَناءً في مَسِيره كالبَرقِ

So we thank you for your generosity, bounty, and openhandedness,

So we thank your generosity, grace and freshness

And offer praise that travels like lightning.

And praise you on your journey like lightning
