O leader, whom I would ransom with my soul,

and with my life and every precious thing.

I have come to lay my grievance before you, O finest

hero ever seen, and lion of the den.

I am a table upon which is displayed

every cup, filled and kept safe.

And I made ready to bring my people

    joy, but they abandon me.

Have they a right to do this, by your honor?

Indeed, by God, I have a sorrowful heart.

Especially while I am in your presence, exalted

in rank—why do they leave me?

So if there is no excuse

for getting up, then collect my debts.
