    I remember the House of Jerusalem as sacred,

    And religion as religion, and Buraq as Buraq.

    And most important to Muslims are sacred rites,

    Lives and necks stand in their defense.

    I marvel at a son of Jews who knows his worth,

    And heads toward India's gleaming blades, slender as they are.

    Hearing it was no trivial matter,

    For hearing it, by God, cannot be borne.

    لم تخلُ مِن مبكَاهُمُ آفَاقُ

    They longed for their place of weeping, so leave them be;

    No horizon was without their place of weeping.

    بَلفورُ طعمُ المُسلمِينَ زُعَأق

    The Jews lied to their Balfour with their promise;

    Balfour, the taste of Muslims is bitter and briny.

    فَإذَا تَخَيَّبَ فَالوِفَاقُ نِفاقُ

    This is the accord, and these are its signs;

    So if it fails, then the accord is hypocrisy.
