لكَ اللهُ مِن رسمٍ على الفضل مُحتَوِ

لكَ اللهُ مِن رسمٍ على الفضل مُحتَوِ

ومِن مَنهَلِ الآدابِ والعلمِ مُرتَوِ

ومِن مَنهَلِ الآدابِ والعلمِ مُرتَوِ

God bless you, a monument embracing excellence,

And drinking its fill from the fount of letters and knowledge.

لَه مِن رُقِيِّ العُربِ أوفرُ قِسمةٍ

لَه مِن رُقِيِّ العُربِ أوفرُ قِسمةٍ

ولم يَنسَ حَظا مِن رُقِيٍّ أربَوِي

ولم يَنسَ حَظا مِن رُقِيٍّ أربَوِي

It has the greatest share of the Arabs’ advancement,

And has not forgotten a share of European progress.

فهَام بهِ نحوَ العَلاَءِ تَفَوُّقٌ

فهَام بهِ نحوَ العَلاَءِ تَفَوُّقٌ

وهَا هو عَن مِنطاد عِزِّه مُستَوِ

وهَا هو عَن مِنطاد عِزِّه مُستَوِ

So distinction carried it soaring toward the heights,

And here it is, rising from the balloon of its glory.
