عجبتُ لهم طافوا به بَعدَما التَحى

عجبتُ لهم طافوا به بَعدَما التَحى

ومنه فما مَلُّوا ومنهُم فما مَلا

ومنه فما مَلُّوا ومنهُم فما مَلا

I marveled at them: they circled him after he grew a beard.

And they never tired of him, nor did he tire of them.

وإذ قتلَ الشَّعرُ الجمالَ بوَجههِ

وإذ قتلَ الشَّعرُ الجمالَ بوَجههِ

And when the hair killed the beauty in his face,

يضِلُّ به بعدَ المُرورِ بِخَدِّهِ

يضِلُّ به بعدَ المُرورِ بِخَدِّهِ

كثيراً ولكن ما يَضِلُّ به إلا

كثيراً ولكن ما يَضِلُّ به إلا

One goes astray because of him after passing by his cheek,

Often—but none go astray because of him except...
