أياO مَنyou who طبَّقَfilled الآفاقَthe horizons ذِكرَاin renown
أيا مَن طبَّقَ الآفاقَ ذِكرَا
وعمَّand spread over نَوالهُhis bounty بَراًّland وبَحرَاand sea
وعمَّ نَوالهُ بَراًّ وبَحرَا
O you whose renown has filled the horizons,
I gazed upon the horizon, recalling Your name
And whose bounty has spread over land and sea,
And Your blessings encompassed both land and sea
أُكابِدُI endure يومَهُhis day فَقراًpoverty مثريعاًprobably 'dreadful' (مريعاً); unclear as written
أُكابِدُ يومَهُ فَقراً مثريعاً
أَانتَare you بِجانِبيbeside me وأخافُand I fear فَقراpoverty
أَانتَ بِجانِبي وأخافُ فَقرا
In his day, I endure dreadful poverty.
I struggle through days of bitter poverty
Are you beside me, and yet I fear poverty?
You stand beside me, yet still I fear destitution
