شيخُ الشبَابِ اليُوسُفِي
مُباركMubarak الخِلِّthe close friend الوَفِيthe loyal
مُبارك الخِلِّ الوَفِي
Al-Yusufi, elder of the young,
The leader of youth, Yusufi
Mubarak, the loyal friend,
The faithful pure Khill, blessed
يَجهدُhe strives فيin أنto يَصطَفِيhe chooses
يَجهدُ في أن يَصطَفِي
ولاَand not ترَاهُyou see him يكتَفِيhe is content
ولاَ ترَاهُ يكتَفِي
Strives to choose,
Strives to handpick
And you do not see him content.
You won’t see him satisfied
لَكنهُbut he قَدmay يكتَفِيhe is content
لَكنهُ قَد يكتَفِي
إِنif لمnot يَجدhe finds مَنsomeone whom يَصطفِيhe chooses
إِن لم يَجد مَن يَصطفِي
But he may be content
But he may be satisfied
If he finds no one to choose.
If he doesn’t find who to handpick
