ألاAh! دُمتِmay you endure ياO دارُhouse ودامَand may it endure لكِfor you الجَدُّgood fortune
فسَعدُكِfor your good fortune بينَamong الدُّورِthe houses لاno مِثلُهlike it سَعدُgood fortune
Ah, may you endure, O house, and may good fortune remain yours.
O abode, may you last, and may glory endure for you,
For among houses, no good fortune equals yours.
Your fortune among houses is peerless good fortune.
بَناكِbuilt you أخُوa possessor of مالٍwealth غِيرٍunclear; probably 'abundant' وثروَةٍand riches
وهَاand behold قدindeed أتاكhas come to you المالُwealth والعلمand knowledge والمجدُand glory
A man of [apparently abundant] wealth and riches built you.
You were built by a brother of wealth, treasures,
And behold, wealth, knowledge, and glory have come to you.
And behold, wealth, knowledge, and glory have come to you.
وهاand behold قدindeed أتاكِhas come to you النظمُverse والنثرُand prose والحِجَاand intellect
وهَاand behold قدindeed أتاكِhas come to you القلبُthe heart فيin الكلِّeverything إذas يبدُوit appears
And behold, verse, prose, and intellect have come to you.
And behold, verse, prose, and rhetoric have come to you,
And behold, the heart has come to you, as it appears in everything.
And behold, the heart in everything has come to you when it appears.
وقدand indeed كُنتِyou were فيin الإهمالِneglect منfrom قبلِbefore حَوزَتِيmy taking possession
وقدand indeed غَارgrew jealous لمَّاwhen حُزتُكِI acquired you الجَوهرُthe jewel الفردُpeerless
And you lay neglected before I took possession of you.
You were once neglected in my keeping,
And when I acquired you, the peerless jewel grew jealous.
And the unique pearl was jealous when I kept you.
وقدand indeed حُزتِyou gained ماan emphatic particle بينamong البرَيَةِhumankind شُهرةًfame

يُردِّدُrepeatedly turns فيكِupon you الطرفَthe gaze فاضلٌa virtuous man أوor وَغدُa lout
And you gained fame among humankind:
You have gained fame between homelands,
A virtuous man or a lout keeps turning his gaze upon you.
Where a noble or ignoble eye turns to you.
وهلand is there? فيamong الورَىhumankind دارٌa house كَدارlike the house of مُرَابطٍa marabout (holy man)
بإبرَاهمَby the name Ibrahim التاطيرَal-Tatir يُدعَىhe is called ولاand no قَصدُintention
And is there among humankind a house like that of a marabout,
Is there in the world a house like the house of Murabit,
Called Ibrahim al-Tatir—without intent?
Called Ibrahim Al-Tayyar, and no other purpose?
فدَامso it continued لسانُthe tongue الحالِof circumstance يُنشِدit chants دائماًalways
دمتِmay you endure ياO دارُhouse ودامَand may it endure لكِfor you الجَدُّgood fortune
So the tongue of circumstance kept chanting, always:
So may the tongue of state ever chant,
Ah, may you endure, O house, and may good fortune remain yours.
O abode, may you last, and may glory endure for you.
