O pearl fashioned in human form!
O delight of the eye, and O light of sight!

ألحُسنُbeauty شيءٌa thing ماnot لَهfor it مثيلٌan equal
ألحُسنُ شيءٌ ما لَه مثيلٌ
A glance at you would turn my poverty to riches.
Beauty is a thing without equal;
وكلُّand every شيءٍthing حازَهُpossesses it جَميلُbeautiful
وكلُّ شيءٍ حازَهُ جَميلُ
والنَّفسُand the soul دائماًalways لهtoward it تميلُinclines
والنَّفسُ دائماً له تميلُ
And everything that possesses it is beautiful.
And the soul is always drawn to it,
وصاحبُand the possessor of العِزِّhonor لهbefore it ذَليلُhumbled
وصاحبُ العِزِّ له ذَليلُ

And the mighty are humbled before it,
Bound captive to its prohibitions and commands.
