مولاي يا مَن أمرُه مسموعُ

مولاي يا مَن أمرُه مسموعُ

وقَدرُه بينَ الورَى مَرفوعُ

وقَدرُه بينَ الورَى مَرفوعُ

My lord, O you whose command is heeded,

My Master, whose command is obeyed,

and whose rank among humankind is exalted,

And whose decree among mankind is exalted,

وَمَن لِشمسِ جاهِه سُطوعُ

وَمَن لِشمسِ جاهِه سُطوعُ

ولِهلالِ سَعدهِ طلُوعُ

ولِهلالِ سَعدهِ طلُوعُ

and whose sun of prestige shines,

He for whom the sun of His glory shines,

and whose crescent of good fortune rises,

And for the crescent of His fortune rises,

والمِسكُ عند ذكرِه يَضُوعُ

والمِسكُ عند ذكرِه يَضُوعُ

شاعرُكُم وعبدكم طَمُوعُ

شاعرُكُم وعبدكم طَمُوعُ

and at whose mention musk wafts its fragrance:

And musk gushes forth at the mention of Him—

your poet and servant is eager

Your poet and servant hopefully awaits

في رُخصةٍ مِقدارُها أسبوعُ

في رُخصةٍ مِقدارُها أسبوعُ

تَابِعةٍ والراتِبُ المتبُوعُ

تَابِعةٍ والراتِبُ المتبُوعُ

for leave lasting one week,

A leave of one week's duration,

with the leave following and the salary leading.

To follow up on the regular salary owed.
