مَولايَmy lord تُرىI wonder هَلwhether تُعطَفُbe bent الأَعطافُthe flanks
مَولايَ تُرى هَل تُعطَفُ الأَعطافُ
أَوor تُغمَدُbe sheathed فيin جُفونِهاtheir scabbards الأَسيافُthe swords
أَو تُغمَدُ في جُفونِها الأَسيافُ
My lord, I wonder: will the flanks bend,
My master, do you think the shoulders will bend
Or will the swords be sheathed in their scabbards?
Or the swords will return to their sheaths?
ماnot يُعوِزُكَyou lack الرِّفدُthe bounty الذيthat تُسأَلُهُyou are asked for it
ما يُعوِزُكَ الرِّفدُ الذي تُسأَلُهُ
بَلrather يُعوِزُكَyou lack الإسعادُhelpfulness والإِسعافُand the granting of requests
بَل يُعوِزُكَ الإسعادُ والإِسعافُ
You do not lack the bounty asked of you;
What you lack is not the support you are asked for
Rather, you lack helpfulness and the granting of requests.
But happiness and helping others
