I wrote, with longing for you and anguish within me,

And passion with a deep sigh between my ribs.

And I have a heart whose fire longing has kindled,

And an eyelid rain-soaked by showers of tears.

Out of longing, passion, and sorrow, I wish

That I might fly with the passing breeze.

So, if only separation would decree togetherness for us,

And a reunion that makes its way toward us with joy,

So we might wake to days smiling because of you,

And the branch of meeting you flourishing through union.
