لوَif نِلتُI attained كلَمحِlike a flash of البَرقِlightning منهُمfrom them أَربَيmy desire
ماnot ارتَعتُI was frightened لِبعُدِat the separation of شَمِلناour union الُمقتَرِبِdrawing close
Had I attained my desire from them in a lightning flash,
I would not have feared the sundering of our close-knit union.
بانواthey departed فَجرَتso flowed أَعيُنُthe springs of عَينَيَّmy two eyes دماًblood
فاعجَبso marvel لِجَريِat the flowing of جَفنِهِits eyelid الُمختَضِبِblood-stained
They departed, and the springs of my two eyes flowed with blood;
So marvel at the streaming of its blood-stained eyelid.
