ماnot مِثلُكَone like you منone who يبقَىremains بلاwithout عُشَّاقِlovers
ما مِثلُكَ من يبقَى بلا عُشَّاقِ
بلbut مِثليone like me ماnot تَراهُyou see him فيin الآفاقِthe horizons
بل مِثلي ما تَراهُ في الآفاقِ
No one like you remains without lovers.
But one like me you do not see across the horizons.
أَجفُوكَI shun you منَof الرَّقيبِthe watcher خوفاًout of fear ويديand my hand
أَجفُوكَ منَ الرَّقيبِ خوفاً ويدي
لاnot تبرحُmoves away منfrom فوقِover حشىًa heart خَفَّاقِthrobbing
لا تبرحُ من فوقِ حشىً خَفَّاقِ
I shun you for fear of the watcher, while my hand
never moves from over my throbbing heart.
