بَينَbetween القُضُبِthe swords البيضٍthe white وَسُمرِand the brown الأَسَلِthe spears
بَينَ القُضُبِ البيضٍ وَسُمرِ الأَسَلِ
رَبَّاتُladies of خدورٍcurtained chambers ساحِراتُbewitchers of الُمقَلِthe eyes
رَبَّاتُ خدورٍ ساحِراتُ الُمقَلِ
Between white swords and brown spears,
Among the white canes and the reddish spear-heads
Are ladies of curtained chambers who bewitch the eyes.
The languid maidens with the dreamy eyes
إنif جُرتَyou trespassed بِحَيِّهِمinto their encampment وَتلِكَand those الكِلَلِthe canopies
إن جُرتَ بِحَيِّهِم وَتلِكَ الكِلَلِ
احذرbeware رَشَقاتِvolleys أسهُمٍarrows منfrom ثُعَلِThuʿal
احذر رَشَقاتِ أسهُمٍ من ثُعَلِ
If you trespass into their encampment and those canopies,
If you should pass by them and their tribe
Beware volleys of arrows from Thuʿal.
