Be unjust, for I am content with injustice in love.
Decree whatever you wish - I am content with injustice in love,
Yes, by your healthy yet ailing eyelids.
And your perfect eyelids that bring about pleasure.

And rule over my lifeblood and wield your power,
Have control over my passion, and absolute power,
however you wish, and decree whatever you will decree.
However you desire, and judge as you see fit, O You

O you of the pure cheek, in which there has always been
Of fair cheek, which has always been
a mingling of redness and whiteness.
A blend of blush and paleness.

A future promise of yours has been forcibly barred
For you is a future confined by the past,
by the keen sword of your eyes.
Blocked by your rejecting sword.

How long—how long—this shunning? Will you not turn
How much longer will this aloofness last? Won't you one day
away one day from some of this turning away?
Refrain from such rejection?

My tears rain down - so who planted
the flowers of gardens grow upon your cheeks?
The flowers of the meadow in your cheeks?

My master, you did not buy my bondage by force;
My master, you did not buy my slavery by force;
its sale was made only by mutual consent.
Rather, its sale was by mutual agreement.

my arrows stray from these targets!
Match my passion for you.

Patience outweighs my madness.

My hope in you has always been expanding;
My hopes in you have always been rising,
only despair has driven it back into contraction.
Only despair diminished them.

O short nights of union, grant me safety
O brief nights of union, secure us
from the long, broad nights of separation.
From the prolonged desolate nights of separation!
