قَدalready صُفِعناwe have been slapped فيin ذاthis الَمحَلِّthe place الشَّريفِnoble
قَد صُفِعنا في ذا الَمحَلِّ الشَّريفِ
وَهَوand that إِنif كُنتَyou are تَرتَضيapprove تَشريفيmy being honored
وَهَو إِن كُنتَ تَرتَضي تَشريفي
We have been slapped in this noble place;
And that, if you approve, is how I am honored.
فارثِso take pity للَعبدِon the servant منbecause of مَصيفa summer صِفاعٍslaps
فارثِ للَعبدِ من مَصيف صِفاعٍ
ياO رَبيعَspring of النَّدىgenerosity وإِلاَّخَريand otherwise, my autumn (word begins here) فيcompletion of the split word 'my autumn'
يا رَبيعَ النَّدى وإِلاَّخَري في
So pity the servant for a summer of slaps,
O spring of generosity—or else my autumn!
