ياعاذِلي ما يفيدُكَ الإِعلانُ
دَعنيleave me وَهوايَand my passion ليfor me ووجديand my yearning شانُan affair
دَعني وَهوايَ لي ووجدي شانُ
O my reproacher, what good does public disclosure do you?
O reproacher, what benefit is there for you in reproaching me?
Leave me and my passion alone; my yearning and I have our own affair.
Leave me be, for my love and passion are my own affair.
قَدindeed عَرَّجَbore aloft بيwith me العِشقُlove إِلىto مَنزِلَةa station
قَد عَرَّجَ بي العِشقُ إِلى مَنزِلَة
ماnot يَعلَمُknows أَينَwhere أَرضُهاits ground السُّلوانُconsolation
ما يَعلَمُ أَينَ أَرضُها السُّلوانُ
Love has borne me aloft to a station.
Love has led me to a position, whose ground
Consolation knows not where its ground lies.
None knows, but Suleiman's land.
