يَقولونَ ما فَضل هذا النَقيب

يَقولونَ ما فَضل هذا النَقيب

فَقُلتُ لَقَد مَلَأ الخافِقين

فَقُلتُ لَقَد مَلَأ الخافِقين

They say, “What is the merit of this naqib?”

They say what virtue has this leader

So I said, “He has indeed filled both horizons.”

I said he has filled the hearts

وَقالوا شَهيد فارّخت بَل

وَقالوا شَهيد فارّخت بَل

وَمات كَمَوتِ أَبيهِ الحسين

وَمات كَمَوتِ أَبيهِ الحسين

And they said, “A martyr”; so I recorded the date—nay,

And they said martyr, so I recorded

And he died as his father al-Husayn died.

He died like the death of his father Hussein
