اِلَيك فَما اِكتِساب المَجد سَهل

اِلَيك فَما اِكتِساب المَجد سَهل

وَلا كُل لِما يَرجوهُ أَهل

وَلا كُل لِما يَرجوهُ أَهل

Stand back, for attaining glory is not easy.

To you. Attaining glory is not easy

Nor is everyone worthy of what he hopes for.

Nor does everyone get what they hope for

تَأَمَّل ما تَراهُ مِنَ المَزايا

تَأَمَّل ما تَراهُ مِنَ المَزايا

وَاِرّخ كَم لِعَبد اللَهِ فَضل

وَاِرّخ كَم لِعَبد اللَهِ فَضل

Consider the merits you see,

Reflect on the advantages you see

And record the date: how much merit ʿAbd Allāh has!

And recount Abdallah’s many graces
