يِالقَومىO my people منwho مُنصِفيone who does me justice مِنagainst حَبيبa beloved
يِالقَومى من مُنصِفي مِن حَبيب
يمكثhe stays الشَهرthe month لاnot أَراهI see him وَأَكثرand more
يمكث الشَهر لا أَراه وَأَكثر
O my people, who will do me justice against a beloved?
O people, who can judge me in the absence of a beloved
He stays away a month and more without my seeing him.
Who is away for over a month, unseen by me
كُلَّماwhenever قلتI said مِنgrant ليto me بِاِجتِماعwith a meeting
كُلَّما قلت مِن لي بِاِجتِماع
قالَhe said دَعنيleave me فَالاِجتِماعfor the meeting مُقَدّرpredestined
قالَ دَعني فَالاِجتِماع مُقَدّر
Whenever I say, “Grant me a meeting,”
Whenever I request we meet again soon
He says, “Leave me, for the meeting is predestined.”
He tells me, "Let it be, for our reunion is predestined."
