ما يصنَعُ المستسِرُّ بالغابِ
صُنعَthe doing of ظِباءٍgazelles وراءَbehind أطنابِtent ropes
صُنعَ ظِباءٍ وراءَ أطنابِ
The one lurking in the thicket does not do
What can the lurker in the forest do
what gazelles behind tent ropes do.
Like the errand of a deer behind the shrubbery
جفونُeyelids هذِىthese gazelles باللحظِwith glances تُرسلُهاthey send them forth
جفونُ هذِى باللحظِ تُرسلُها
أقتلُdeadlier مِنthan ذاthat one بالظُّفْرِwith claw والنابِand fang
أقتلُ مِن ذا بالظُّفْرِ والنابِ
These gazelles' eyelids, unleashed in glances,
The glances of this mad one her eyelids deploy
are deadlier than that one with claw and fang.
