وسلافةٍ بُزلت فأبرزَ دَنُّها
ذهباًgold يرصَّعُis inlaid عَسجداgold إِبريزاpure gold
ذهباً يرصَّعُ عَسجدا إِبريزا
And a choice wine was tapped, so its jar revealed
A loose tooth was pulled, revealing

خَبرَexperienced النَّدامىthe drinking companions فعلَهاits effect فإذاand behold بِهِwith it
خَبرَ النَّدامى فعلَها فإذا بِهِ
كالمالlike wealth يرجِعmakes become بالذليلwith the lowly man عزيزاmighty
كالمال يرجِع بالذليل عزيزا

وجدوا بها مِلءَ الدِّنان كنوزا
So they vied to seize it; without doubt, they
They ransacked her, no doubt, for they
Found in it treasures enough to fill the wine jars.
