ضاع منّي في تقلبِه

I had a heart by which I lived.

It was lost to me in its turnings.

It strayed from me in its fickleness

رب فاردده عليّ فقد

ضاق صدري في تطلبه

Lord, restore it to me, for indeed

Lord, return it to me, for

My breast has grown tight in seeking it.

My chest grew tight in seeking it

وأغث ما دام بي رمقٌ

وأغث ما دام بي رمقٌ

يا غياثَ المستغيثِ به

يا غياثَ المستغيثِ به

And come to my aid while a breath of life remains in me,

And help me as long as there is still a breath in me

O succor of the one who seeks succor from Him.

O helper of those who cry out for help
