I gulped down bliss and misery from its two states—

Time—when it unleashes its spouts, I am drunk down.

For many an ordeal has made me drink its cups,

So I made it drink cupfuls from the sea of my patience.

I wore my patience as armor and cloaked myself in time's reversals,

And said to myself, “Patience—or perish of grief.”

Calamities—had the lofty mountains grappled with their ordeal,

They would have sunk, and no hand would have found a trace of them.
